These exciting new studies are based on the chord progressions to well known tunes that jazz exponents frequently use for improvisation. In fact, a player can have fun trying to identify each original song. The majority of the tunes are in the same key as the original song, and may be used as a viable written improvisation on that tune. While every etude remains interesting, and melodic, the rhythmic patterns are limited to more basic combinations.
